I’m so excited to have the opportunity to perform this Fall at the 2008 Barn Party. I will be playing with Blake Shelton, Bucky Covington and Lee Brice. Outside of getting to work with great artists like these, it’s for a great cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hermie and Elliott Sadler Foundation, Dale Jarrett Foundation and Kasey Kahne Foundation. Supporting charitable organizations has always been very important to me, especially when it comes to children and our military. I’m grateful and proud to be a part of this and help any way I can.
On a more selfish note – I’m gonna meet the Sadlers, Kasey Kahne and Dale Jarrett!!! Woo-hoo!!! And of course, Blake, Bucky and Lee.
I’ve been doing radio interviews the past few weeks with the stations that are spinning my single, “Watch Where We’re Goin’” and hopefully we’ll get some audio up soon for you to hear.
That’s it for me tonight – have a fabulous week!

WHAT A RACE!
Congrats to Kyle Busch on another 2008 victory. Love him or hate him. The man can drive! Seven wins – wow! At the last restart it was amazing how he overtook Jimmie Johnson. He is going to be tough to beat the rest of the season and throughout the chase.
I love races under the lights! More races should be at night. Not all of them but maybe a third of them. It’s always interesting to see how each driver, crew chief and team adjusts for a night race.
I’m always learning something new, every race and every season. Add to that the personal drama between teams and drivers and to me it is the perfect sport. This is why I love NASCAR!
What other sport allows you to get this kind of access to the athletes on such a personal level. The drivers typically have an approachable quality that makes it seem like they’re just normal folks like you and me. In an era where “stars” are very unapproachable and sometimes even hostile towards their fan base it is great to see the drivers truly appreciate their fans. This is also the case in country music and is why it has the most loyal fans in the music industry.
Compared to other sports, NASCAR just feels more interactive and allows the fan to have a real connection to the drivers.
See you next week!!

I have supported our troops for a very long time, write to the troops, and send packages just so they know that people support them! All last year we looked for a song that I could record for them and for charity.
We were searching for a song, and like God intervening, we discovered this amazing song, Letters From War; a story about a soldier writing to his mother while he was fighting overseas. The story is so touching, when I first heard it, I couldn’t stop crying.
We have partnered with the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund (www.freedomalliance.org), and are donating the proceeds of this song to this amazing organization. So many people believed in what we were doing, they donated time as well. Thanks so Omni Sound Studios, 7th Level Productions, John Kunz, Brian Yuskulka and of course my producer and label president, Mike Winnen for all they gave of themselves for this project! Mike, John & the musicians truly made the song come alive!
I truly hope that this song will highlight the support we all have for our troops. Our troops are doing something very brave and are far from their loved ones – I feel we owe them the utmost gratitude and praise. As always, like the song says, “make it home, make it safe.”
You can hear the song on all my websites right now and it will released next Tuesday. Please support them and buy the song.

Well the 2008 NASCAR season is about a month away and I am so excited!!! I can’t wait to see how Dale Jr. does with Hendricks Motorsports! Not to mention the 50th Anniversary of the Daytona 500 – what an exciting event that will be! Obviously, Jimmie Johnson really put on the heat in ’07 season to win the cup, he’s the man to beat this year.
I’ll have to get used to saying “Sprint Cup Series” and “National Cup Series.” I guess we get to look forward to new commercials, right? Wait…. That’s the Super Bowl!
I look forward to the first race and all the excitement at Daytona!!

Wow… it’s 2008 already! Where does the time go? I can say that 2007 was a lighting fast year with some amazing things – God really does great things. 2008 looks like it will be even better! Hollyville Records is working on a tour and the possibility of going to Afghanistan & Iraq to perform for the troops – I AM SO EXCITED!!!
Christmas was wonderful! I spent time with my family. The holidays always help me realize how wonderful family is, and how precious life can be. I’ve been taking care of a close loved one battle through cancer and seeing his strength and weakness through all of this has really made my belief in family, God and love all the deeper.
I don’t make New Year’s resolutions, but I do like goals though. I had made some goals in 2007 that will continue into ’08. The first of which is to go to Afghanistan & Iraq, the second is tour nationally and the third is to connect more with fans!
I hope your 2007 was great and that your 2008 is even better!

I am so excited to announce the release of my debut cd. This is just amazing. I always dreamed of this day and now it is a reality.
It is such an honor to have worked with Hollyville Records, Mike Winnen, John Kunz, Oliver Brodhage and so many others who worked so hard to make this happen! I can’t thank them enough.
The CD is currently available through the normal outlets, my website and on Amazon.com. iTunes, MSN, Rhapsody and others will be coming shortly (apparently they are SLOOOOOW - LOL).
To celebrate the release I will be playing some poker with our friends at www.vlpclub.net! This is Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Elliott Sadler’s latest venture and I am proud to be associate with them.
Winners will get prizes such as signed CDs, t-shirts and signed pictures. So many things are on the horizon and I am looking forward to a great year!

Heather has already made an impact in the world of NASCAR. Heather is a regular figure at Dale Eanhardt Jr.’s website www.infieldparking.com (a MySpace for NASCAR fans). With strong pre-sale orders and an even stronger song list, the rest of 2007 and 2008 are shaping up to be a good year for this rising star.

What a whirlwind this last year has been! I was lucky enough to land a deal with an independent label and started working on the album. I was fortunate enough to get to be hands-on on so many aspects of my career – Hollyville Records has been so great to me – I am truly blessed! I’ve worked hand-in-hand with my producer, Mike Winnen, to find great songs, musicians, engineers and all the other people it takes to make music happen, and it’s been a challenging, exciting, educational and rewarding experience from day 1. You really do create such a bond with songs when you hear them as many times as it takes to make an album. There’s nothing like hearing a song as a demo and talking about what it could be, and then making that happen. I got chills listening to what Mike and the musicians did with those songs – the Nashville process for making records is truly awe-inspiring. The amount of speed and talent these guys have is intimidating to say the least!
September 18th is my official release date and I am very excited. There is so much to do between now and then. The plan is to promote the cd through November and I am hoping to be out on the road early 2008. Mike has been talking to Dale Earnhardt’s people about possibly working together to do something with Dale’s website www.infieldparking.com and during the NASCAR circuit. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Speaking of NASCAR. I am a NASCAR junkie! It is without a doubt the coolest spectator sport around! I didn’t grow up watching NASCAR and have only been following it for a short time compared to most fans but I am addicted.
I am constantly fascinated at all the subtle nuances the teams have to exploit for some advantage on the track. I NEVER would have thought tape could be used in such a strategic way – I mean I know I use duct tape as a fix-all, but I have to proudly say I never used it on my car, although after NASCAR, maybe I should consider it? (ok, maybe not – I don’t go that fast Mr. Officer).
Please check out the Pre-Order contest we have running at
http://www.heatherwilkins.net/ipcontest
AND come join me at www.infieldparking.com/hwilkins if you enjoy racing. We will be giving away some very cool prizes in the next couple months.
Stay tuned for my next entry!
