7/29 - Chad Knaus wins WYPALL* Wipers Crew Chief of the Race at Indy

Congrats Lowe’s Racing and Hendrick Motorsports fans! Chad Knaus, Crew Chief of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevy wins the “WYPALL* Wipers Crew Chief of the Race” at Indy.

Chad’s obvious leadership and strategy paid off for race winner Jimmie Johnson as Chad and his crew put Jimmie in the right position each and every time out of the pits.

The Allstate 400 turned into a crazy day for the crews as NASCAR mandated several “competition cautions” to allow Goodyear to outfit the teams with fresh tires to keep the drivers safe after multiple tire tears resulted in some chase contenders heading to the garage with car damage after wrecks.

The 48 team and Chad forged on making the right calls at the right times and matching that with superior pit work.

Congrats to Chad on a job well done.

Catch you next week after Pocono!

Take care!

7/15 - Crew Chief of the Race - Chicago

This weeks winner is…….Kevin Hamlin, Crew Chief of the #83 Red Bull Racing Team.

Despite a 6th place finish, Hamlin took home the award because of his leadership and ingenuity. He continues to dazzle, along with driver Brian Vickers.  The two have formed a formidable team and have Vickers right behind the chase field in 14th place in the points.

See you in two weeks for the Crew Chief of the Race from the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

7/8 - Crew Chief of the Race - Daytona

….is Chip Bolin of the #17 R&L Carriers/DeWalt Ford Fusion.  Chip did a great job and as Kenny Francis remarked “His car was in the 30’s and shot up the front of the pack when it counted and Chip had a lot to do with that, working on the car all night.”

Remember to listen to Claire B. Lang on XM 144 today for the WYPALL Wipers Crew Chief Segment at 4:20 pm.
